KCO 2009 Offering

Many people wonder why we have an opportunity to give (an offering) at KCO.  Giving is an important part of being a Christian.  We give regularly and generously as an act of worship to God.  It is our response to God for His love and generosity to, and with, all of us.  We believe that God is the greatest giver of all!  He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, so that we could fully experience His love.  Our giving also meets the needs of others by offering financial care and support.   We hope and pray that as you consider this offering (act of giving) you will always know God's love in your life.

This year, we are encouraging groups to choose something from the Everything in Common, Uniting International Mission 2008 gift catalogue. Your group coordinator has a copy of the catalogue or you can check it out online at http://www.everythingincommon.com.au/.

KCO 2008 Offering

This year, the KCO Committee has decided that the Offering will be distributed to the "Jordan School in Zambia". See brochure  icon UCOA Zambia (419.53 kB) for more information.

KCO 2007 Offering

In a year when we were ironically washed out, children and other KCO participants still gave generously! $2255.25 was donated to the Drought Appeal. Thank you everyone!

KCO 2006 Offering

The KCO 2006 Offering was over $6,000!

It's awesome to think that children can make a difference by bringing $2 or so in their Offering envelope to KCO. A little can make such a difference!

The offering was divided 3 ways:

  • Travel assistance (8 groups have been granted financial support
  • Children's ministry within the Uniting Church through ministry with children in remote areas, through UAICC; and
  • Supporting the Kollagunta Girls Hostel in South India in their education of girls in primary and secondary years by erecting a wall. We received another donation from an individual ($100), so $2150 has been sent to help pay for the wall. (What a privilege to be a part of this!)
Children in remote areas

This was the second year of contributing towards ministry with children in remote areas. The money will go towards ministry with indigenous kids, through UAICC (Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress). From the combination of last year's offering, this year's and a donation from Red Dove Café, there is around $4500 that will go to this ministry. 6 children and 2 leaders from the Anangu lands; and 2 boys from Copley and 3 from Hawker were able to attend KCO 2006 due to this financial support.
